He was well-known as a lover of the gospel genre, so much so that a gospel compilation was released posthumously in his honor, featuring vocals from many of his former singing partners as well as his daughter, Lisa Marie Presley. However, the group left behind a legacy that has influenced generations of musicians. The group was founded by Leonard Hamilton, a native of Birmingham, Alabama, who started singing in church choirs as a child.
